National Cup Competition is an annual Girl Guiding event that is attended by Girl Guides, Rangers and Young leaders. The main goal of the competitions is to provide girls and young women with a platform to put into practice skills earned that will enable them influence issues that they care about.
It is an outdoor camp activity that tests participants on the practical use of life skills education i.e. First Aid, Culture and Patriotism. To participate participants must have taken part in their regional cup competitions and won. Each County is allowed to bring three teams i.e. Girl Guides, Rangers and Young leaders.
This year, the competition will be held at Machakos Teacher’s Training College in Machakos County from 13-19 November, 2015. The theme is “We can create peace through partnerships” Based on Millennium Development Goal 8.
Last year Competitions were held at Murang’a Teachers Training College in Murang’a County. A total of 314 girl guides and young women attended the camp and participated in various activities including tree planting around Murang’a College Primary School and the community within.
