Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) is one of the largest organizations in Kenya for girls and young women and is a multi-racial, non-religious, non-political and non-profit making organization. Our vision is girls creating a better World. Our mission is to raise girls and young women to be beacons of integrity nurturing and championing social values. We provide programs for girls and young women to become ambassadors of
Dignity, Integrity, Spirituality, Servant Leadership and
Citizenship.
In February 2018 and in line with our vision of
Girls Creating a Better World, Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) launched a robust 10-year Strategic Plan for 2017-2027 anchored on 5 strategic goals namely:
- Empowerment of girls and young women to develop, exploit, and utilize their fullest potential through value-based training.
- Providing opportunities by creating chances, environment, and space for girls and young women.
- Creating a Platform for girls and young women to speak out and influence issues that concern them.
- Advocacy and lobbying for girls and young women to be valued and empowered to act.
- Strengthening the institutional capacity and capability of KGGA to deliver on its mandate.
In line with this, the ADOPT-A-UNIT initiative was launched by our
Patron the
First Lady Her Excellence Margaret Kenyatta on 22
nd February 2018. We are thus seeking partnership with Corporates, Individuals, Organizations and both National and County Governments.
This initiative allows the adoption of
Units with a single unit consisting of
24 Girls (made up of 3 patrols of 8 Girls each) at Kenya Shilling Twenty Thousand Only
(Kshs. 20,000/=) per Unit. Well-wishers are encouraged to adopt
at least 10 units i.e. at Kenya Shilling Two Hundred Thousand Only (Kshs. 200,000/=) or more to assist the Girl Child to achieve her fullest potential.
It is envisaged that this support would allow in the initiative’s areas of focus which would be among others
- Purchase of uniforms for girls in disadvantaged areas.
- Support the production of program books.
- Develop and roll out targeted curricula that address the National and Global leadership trends and the related societal challenges facing girls and women at large.
- KGGA will develop a modern hostel facility at the HQ and a campsite, and can be used by both local and international guests/campers.
- Set up at least 4 skills training Center outside Nairobi and provide relevant market-led training and prepare the young girls for the job market.
- Sponsor young girls and women to participate in relevant local and international fora to advocate for issues affecting them.
