Introduction:
This YESS (Youth Exchange South to South) project aims at giving young women (18-25 years) from WAGGGS’ Member Organisations in Africa an opportunity of a six month international experience, which also gives them a platform to be change agents and make meaningful contribution to both their home and host countries.
What is YESS

  • Beneficiaries: This project aims at giving young women (18-25 years) from WAGGGS’ Member Organisations in Africa an opportunity of a six month international experience,
  • Member Organizations: Kenya GGA, Tanzania GGA, Burundi GGA, Rwanda GGA, Uganda GGA, Malawi GGA, Zimbabwe GGA, South Africa GGA, Madagascar GGA and Zambia GGA, Bangladesh GGA , Nepal GGA.
  • How long: 9 months ( 1 month preparation; 6 months actual exchange + 2 months follow up activities)
  • Lead partner: WAGGGS
Objectives
  • Strengthening the relationship of our two guiding Associations; as well as with other members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in the African and Asia Pacific regions.
  • Develop skills and knowledge learnt from host countries to share best practices and lessons leant back home country.
  • appreciate cultural diversity across Africa, Asia Pacific and beyond as well as strengthen your spirit of tolerance and respect for other cultures
