The catering units trains girls from the Kibera Slums in catering and other food preparation courses which are controlled and examined by National Industrial Training Authority ( NITA ) without paying any studying fees. We intend to utilize these students during their practical’s to be involved in food preparation and catering for the mushrooming commercial Centre nearby with many banks and other operating offices. We shall also introduce outside catering unit that will be engaged in functions and events at discounted rates. Those students who excel in this course may be hired or encouraged to start their own catering units as entrepreneurs with skills that they would have earned. We will need support of well-wishers, donors and players in hospitality industry to support this venture with funds or donation of foodstuff and materials used in their trainings.
