Brief info

CPA Liz Matimu is the Honorary Treasurer of KGGA and also works as the Partner, Risk, and Business Advisory at KKCO East Africa. She is a graduate of the United States International University of Africa (USIU) holding a master’s degree in Business Administration specializing in Strategy and Human Resources and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Moi University. She is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Reg. No. 10261) and is an Executive Coach and a member of the Academy of Executive Coaches London.

Liz has 21 years of broad and extensive experience in leading Internal Audit systems reviews, due diligence assessments, human resource management, corporate governance, setting up financial systems and internal controls for clients, and supporting family businesses and enterprises.

Liz has also worked as a corporate governance consultant with the IFC Group, part of the World Bank, working with the African Corporate Governance teams in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. She has also worked in Stanbic Bank having held several positions including Home Loans Manager, Acquisition Manager, and Learning and Development Consultant.

Liz currently serves as the Honorary Treasurer of the Kenya Girl Guides Association as well as a trainer for ICPAK. Internationally, she serves in the DFK EMEA committee as a member representing the Middle East and Africa Regions.

Liz is married and has two teenage sons. In her free time, she loves mentoring girls, supporting swimming sports, and reading good historical novels.
