Prof. Faith Nguru is an experienced academic administrator, researcher, teacher, and mentor in the areas of Communication, Media, Culture, Development, and Christian Ministries. She is the DVC-Academics, Research & Student Affairs – Daystar University. Prof. Nguru’s main objective is to progressively apply her acquired knowledge, skills and competencies in administration and scholarship to impact the next generation.

Prof. Nguru is passionate about empowering girls and young women to achieve their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world. As an academician in leadership who is keen on articulating issues that affect girls and young women, Prof. Nguru believes that how well non-formal education and targeted youth interventions, such as Girl Guiding are delivered becomes the foundation the empowerment and transformation of girls. She credits her personal values, ethos and career success to Girl Guiding experiences during her formative years.

Prior to the role of Chief Commissioner of the Kenya Girl Guides Association, Faith served as Chairman of the National Council, National Trainer, Camp First Aider and Ranger Cadet.

Prof. Nguru holds a PhD in Mass Communication from the Bowling Green State University, Ohio USA.
