Brief info
Terry is a Human Resources practitioner and consultant with over 20 years’ experience in the field of human resources management, executive coaching, strategic leadership, organization development, mediation and change management. She has held senior positions in both private and public organizations. Terry has been responsible for the design and implementation of major change initiatives, organization design and leadership programmes. Her focus is on aligning people strategy, business strategy and organization culture.
Terry is passionate about making a positive impact in society through the development and empowerment of people to achieve and make the most of potential. She is particularly focused on women and the girl child and firmly believes that it is through equipping the girl that sustainable change can be realized. She says ‘investing in a girl pays compounded dividend because the girl becomes a woman with an opportunity to transform not only herself, but she will make a significant difference in her family, her environment and her society’.
Terry earned a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Nairobi and undertook one-year course work in International Relations at the same university. She acquired her professional HR training from the Institute of Human Resources, Kenya where she attained a Higher National Diploma in Human Resources. She is also a Certified Trustee of Retirement Benefit Schemes from Humber College, Canada, Trained Trainer of Corporate Governance from Centre of Corporate Governance; Kenya, Certified Executive Coach from the Academy of Executive Coaches, UK and a Certified Mediator from MTI International, USA.
Terry has been a Member of Board of Directors of several corporate bodies – Kenyatta International Conference Centre, National Social Security Fund, University of Eldoret and ACT! Act, Change and Transform.
Terry is married to Wilson Maina and together have 3 adult children.
